How to get there from here

It was mentioned at today's meeting that we get to the point where we do the 30 second commericial for the person sitting beside us -- I like the idea. Maybe we could do something like that on the first meeting of the month rather than every time?

Also, at some point in the recent past, I heard someone mention the idea of re-arranging the seating configuration from the long horseshoe-type arrangement that generally restricts conversation between two or three folks and instead have us seated four to a table. Such an arrangement might lend itself to more conversation. Ideas? Comment below.

I had an idea that I wanted to run by the group. I thought that it might be beneficial to set up a bi-weekly one-on-one rotation with each member in the group (meet with one other member between each B2B meeting), as discussed in various meetings in both the North and Downtown groups. The pairings would be announced at the conclusion of each B2B meeting with 5 minutes at the very end specifically set aside for those pairs to get together to get their meeting scheduled for the upcoming week. They should make every effort possible to meet in that first week following the B2B meeting and then spend the next week brainstorming on one referral that could be passed to that person at the following meeting. This way everyone would have at least one referral per meeting and that referral would be a quality one based on the one-on-one meeting and the information gained by each member.

This could be taken a step further by having each member do the 30 second commercial for the other member and then discuss who they have referred to that individual and why. This could open some very good dialogue between the referring party and others in the group that share the same connection or would like to work with that company or individual referred. This would allow the entire group to benefit exponentially from each one-on-one meeting as well as encourage some creative thinking from the group rather than just the feeling of showing up each week for the food and company.

New members would join the rotation the first meeting after they have officially become a member – guests would not be included until they’ve paid their membership dues (this gives another incentive to join and actively participate). If Jason or Genia feel that we’d need a Meeting Rotation Coordinator to keep everything straight, I would be happy to take on that role for the group.

I like it, John. Especially since you're volunteering yourself to be the coordinator...

See y'all tomorrow.
